It was a beautiful frosty & sunny day today!

Although I don't like cold weather, today I enjoyed it because yesterday I bathed my dog and since all the mud was frozen, she came home completely clean!

I asked on Yahoo Answers what made people happy that day and got several nice answers :)

I'm glad that these four people took time to think about a little thing that made them happy and share it with others :) It certainly did make me happy reading them and I even learned something - I had never heard of amaranth (hopefully will find it in a store and be able to try it myself :)

I like to learn about different countries and cultures and one way I found I can do it, is through local radio stations! There is a site (with awesome retro design probably from more than 10 years ago) called Surfmusic where you can listen to radio all over the world (there are more continents on the left). For example yesterday we listened to a French radio station and there was a lot of beautiful music that we normally don't hear at all!

And what was kind of shocking to me - there was one song that we liked in particular and although I don't understand French at all and it's nearly impossible for me to write down anything I hear, I listened closely and attempted to write down a couple words (that were similar to English ones) in Google with the world 'lyrics' and BOOM - the third link led me to the correct song!! I find it truly amazing how easy it is to find songs by lyrics nowadays!!
This year I started feeding birds a little too soon (people do this in cold climates to help birds stay alive in winter when they can't find food), when the grass was frosty for a week and I thought the snow was coming soon. Now it's a little warmer again and I thought I wouldn't add any food for them until the next cold.
But no! These little guys already have some kind of a routine where a bunch of birds fly to our birdhouse every morning and check for food. In case there is none, they start looking into the windows (I tried to take a photo of it, but I just ended up sitting there under the window, holding up my camera for ten minutes because they decided to fly away already) and even knocking with their beaks on the windows!! (actually they are probably just trying to eat pieces of plants stuck on the window frames... but knocking on the windows for food sounds better)
Since they have already woken me up (and scared the hell out of our dog and cats) a couple times with their knocking, I decided to continue feeding them despite the warm weather... And cats like watching them fly around also :)

Here is one extremely upset bird, who looks at me while I prepare my breakfast sandwiches... And judges me for being a bad bird feeder

We went on a little trip to a bigger city some time ago and while we were in a supermarket, we noticed an interesting man. Like always in a big city at a busy hour, everyone was rushing and trying to find something they could quickly eat for lunch. But not this man - he was veery sloowly and carefully walking around and we soon noticed a security guard watching this man from a distance, so we came to a conclusion that he was quite drunk and security guards were making sure he didn't cause any trouble. So at some point the guard had to walk over to another isle and this man (not knowing he was watched by anyone at all), probably hungry after drinking, walked over to a place where you can combine your own salad, looked at all of it (which mostly consists of greens), grabbed half an egg with his bare hand and just started eating it :)

Other than enjoying half an egg in a crowded supermarket, he seemed like a decent man, well clothed and eventually paid for some things he picked out. We called him egg-man and made up a story that he has been married for over 30 years and always been controlled by women (mother and now a wife) so when he went on this business-trip he drank a little too much and just realized that he actually doesn't care at all what other people think so he decided to start enjoying life and thinking about what HE wants but since he is still a decent man, the most intuitive thing he could think of was eating that half an egg in the middle of the supermarket :D
We had fun making up this story and now boiled eggs taste just a little bit better when we remember egg-man and how passionately (or just hungrily) he ate the egg :)
